"Organized like a team, fighting like a family!"
Message from Master Carlos Gracie, Jr.
"At the heart of the Gracie Barra Family's extraordinary success over the years is our strong philosophy and mission as a group, a foundation which our masters laid many years ago, but is constantly being reinforced by the great people that make our community. Jiu-Jitsu is a beautiful art, and we have a vision of how it should be taught as a means for individual development going beyond the competitive realm. To achieve this vision, we must remember to come together as a family, always putting the team in front of individual. For that, we will fight to the end for what we believe is right".
~ Master Carlos Gracie Jr. (Founder)
Message from Professor Chad Robichaux “Robo”
Welcome to Gracie Barra . We are home to the very best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team in the world - Gracie Barra; Team Robo MMA; and the Patumwaden Muay Thai Team, and we are the premier Martial Arts training academy in the North Houston region building athletes in The Woodlands, Spring, and Conroe. When asked, "What does Gracie Barra mean to you?" All of our students would have the same answer: “A Family”. That is not fortuity, but rather the result of life works of extraordinary individuals like Count Mitsuyo Maeda, Carlos Gracie Sr., Rolls Gracie, Carlos Gracie Jr., and people you will find inside our academy who are dedicating their lives to the realization of their dreams and to the continuity of their legacies.
For me, Gracie Barra is a dream coming true. We are now consisted of hundreds of students at all ages, gender and backgrounds, building a diverse brotherhood committed to the life long journey of self mastery provided by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, and Fitness. What you will find most unique about or Academy is our team atmosphere focusing on safe, fun, yet effective programs. Our facility is 5,000 sq. ft. with the very best fitness and training equipment to include an MMA training cage, boxing ring, pro-shop, lockers, showers, and 8'x10' movie theater for social events.
Everything I have focused on in training has been geared to competition and self-defense. Currently, I am an Undefeated Pro MMA Fighter, 2008 NAGA Champion, and Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt and Traditional Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt. In addition to me, we have a phenomenal staff of world class instructors ready to train you; to include Marcelo De Souza- Professor from GB Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Kim- USMF & MTIA Champion, Alex Gotay, and Lewis Wood - 33-1 Pro Boxer / NABF Champion.
Whether loosing 50lbs, building self confidence, or competing is your goal, you can see we have it all, and we are here to help you along the way. I truly love coaching, and keep instruction focused on practical and effective strategies. I believe each of us is put on earth by God to serve one another, as a servant to my fellow man I found a love in coaching. The positive impacts I have seen Jiu-Jitsu make in my own and my students lives are so rewarding I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I have and will always consider myself a student of martial arts and a teammate over a coach. I can say that each of the other coaches on our Team feel the exact same way.
On behalf of myself and the coaching staff, thank you for taking an interest in Gracie Barra. This website is just a virtual extension of our school. Here you will find tons of information about us, our programs, and our sport. If you are not yet a GB member, contact us to schedule your FREE intro class.
We look forward to you taking advantage of our FREE trial and seeing what a life change it will make to become a Team Member! At Gracie Barra , we are a Team - a Family, and we welcome you to come and be a part of it.

Testimonial of David Vieira Da Silva
"Chad Robo is the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner in his weight class that I have ever grappled with. That is why I decided to give him his Black Belt that was long overdue and welcomed him into the Gracie Barra family not only as a friend but as a brother, and I believe that he will have a brilliant future as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt competitor and as a Mixed Martial Arts fighter.".
